The Nucleus® Smart App is evolving

We’re excited to introduce a refreshed Nucleus® Smart App experience, designed to feel simpler, clearer, and more helpful as you manage your hearing day to day. The app has a new look, but the core features you already know remain the same.

This update is part of Cochlear’s ongoing dedication to improving your hearing experience.

What you need to do: Re-pair your hearing devices with step-by-step guidance

After you update the app, you will need to re-pair your hearing devices to your phone. The updated experience is designed to guide you through the process step by step, with clearer prompts and helpful status updates along the way.

You should not need to log in again if you were already logged in before updating. Once re-pair is complete, you’ll be ready to continue using the app to support your everyday hearing experience.

If setup does not work the first time

If setup does not work the first time, don’t worry. Check that Bluetooth is turned on, restart your hearing devices if prompted, and follow the in-app steps again. The updated experience is designed to provide more guidance, so you can understand what to try next.

If you still need help, support is available. Contact Device Support at 1 (800) 483-3123.

What’s New: Message Center helps you stay informed

When you open the updated app, you’ll see a Welcome message in the new Message Center. This is one of the most exciting updates because it brings important app messages, alerts, and information into one convenient place.

If there’s something new for you to review, a bell icon will let you know a message is waiting. If something needs your attention, important alerts may also appear on your Home screen, so it’s easier to see what to do next and keep moving forward.

What’s New: Permissions will appear when they are needed

The updated app will ask for permissions, such as Bluetooth, Location, Camera, or Microphone, only when a feature needs them.

For example, Bluetooth and Location may help your phone connect with your hearing devices or support features like Find My Processor. Camera or Microphone access may be needed for certain remote care features. You can review and manage permissions in Settings at any time.

We’re excited for you to try it

The refreshed Nucleus® Smart App is designed to make everyday app use more intuitive, more guided, and easier to navigate. We’re excited for you to experience the new look and the added support built into the update.

When the update launches, open the Nucleus® Smart App, read your Welcome message, and follow the prompts to re-pair your hearing devices. From there, you’ll be ready to explore the updated app experience.
