Did you know that using a drying unit can be an important part of maintaining your Cochlear Sound Processor to protect against moisture build up? Here’s why.
Maximize the performance of your sound processor
Like other items worn daily, your cochlear sound processor faces exposure to moisture from the environment and natural oils. You might be wondering what you can do to look after your sound processor and maximize its performance and even lengthen its life.
Wipe your sound processor with a soft cloth, clean daily and use its drying unit at night.
A drying unit also acts as a dehumidifier, protecting your sound processor from the damaging effects of moisture. Daily cleaning and dehumidifying can help to lengthen your processor’s life span and decrease the need for repairs.
Make sure you use your drying unit daily to help remove moisture from your sound processor – don’t just leave it in its packaging!
How to get started
- Don’t use just any dehumidifier or you risk damaging your sound processor. Find the most suitable option to keep your sound processor dry, safe and in good condition.
- Always turn your processor OFF before placing it inside any dehumidifier overnight.
Take a look at our guide to available drying options you can use with your sound processors:
