Today's focus is all about growing more comfortable and confident with your Cochlear™ Nucleus® Kanso® 3 Nexa™ Sound Processor, as you learn about placement and keeping your device fully charged.
Building confidence with a new routine
One of the most effective ways to transition any new change in your life seamlessly is by establishing routines. This helps you grow more familiar with your technology and helps start the day off right. That’s why we’re focusing on two goals today.
The goals for today are to practice putting your sound processor on your head and learning how to charge your sound processor.
1. Use a mirror to place your sound processor on your head
You may want to practice putting on your device in front of the mirror to make sure it’s sitting on your head comfortably and correctly. Correct placement is important to help you hear your best. Here are some tips:
- Ensure the processor is the correct side up: The two microphone ports should be at the top of the sound processor and facing away from your head.
- Hold the sound processor above your implant on your head.
- Rotate the sound processor slightly in both directions, clockwise and counterclockwise.
- When you feel a stronger pull from the magnet, the processor is in place.
- Once you’ve positioned the device, double-check that the microphones are still facing up. You can verify this by ensuring that the Cochlear logo is facing the right way.
2. Charging your sound processor
Your Cochlear Nucleus Kanso 3 Nexa Sound Processor’s Home Charger makes it easy to store, dry and charge your device. When placing it in its home charger at night, make sure you see the green indicator light flashing to ensure it’s in the right position for charging.
