Did you know you can now manage your child’s new new sound processor from your Apple® Watch?1 The Cochlear™ Nucleus® Smart App2 has been developed to allow you to do just that.

With your child’s Nucleus Nexa™ Sound Processor, you’ll find the Nucleus Smart App3 invaluable. Here are five ways the app will help you and your child manage daily life with a cochlear implant:

1. Monitor the sound processor’s battery life, adjust the volume and change the program, from the convenience of your smartphone.

2. Help find your child’s sound processor if it’s misplaced using the app’s Find my Processor feature.

3. Monitor how your child is using their device with the Hearing Tracker feature. For example, “Time in Speech” shows how much time your child spends in an environment with speech. This can help set goals, track your child’s time in speech for a week and set the goal a little higher, and monitor any improvement.

4. Within Hearing Tracker, you can also monitor “coil offs”, which is the number of times the coil of the sound processor disconnects from the implant during the day. This can happen intentionally if it’s removed for a nap, or if it was accidentally knocked off while playing. You can set up alerts and notifications so you and your child can stay informed if it’s disconnected.
